DESCRIPTION:Festival Director\, Kazy Tauginas\, of the Newark Independent Film Festival presents Fright Nights! \nYes\, you read that correctly! We’ll be showing the original – William Peter Blatty’s “The Exorcist”. Often imitated\, never duplicated\, many consider this the best horror film of all time as it was nominated for ten oscars and won two. Audiences left the theaters screaming when the film was originally released. On October 17th\, we’ll be showing the lesser known Director’s Cut. Come out and see the film as it was originally intended – on the big screen with CSP’s state-of-the-art sound system! When a mysterious entity possesses a young girl\, her mother seeks the help of two Catholic priests to save her life. The costume contest will take place immediately following the screening. Think pageant. Contestants will have to strut their stuff across the stage and the audience will pick the winner who will receive a $100 gift card and two VIP passes to attend our full festival in August of 2026. \nThe Exorcist is rated “R”. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.
