CSP is a volunteer-based community theatre that is open to non-traditional casting which is color conscious, disability-inclusive, and accepts actors identifying as any gender.

Audition :: Cabaret

Chapel Street Players seeks dynamic actors, singers, and dancers for their season closing production of Kander and Ebb’s Cabaret. Auditioners should come prepared with 32 bars of a song in the style of the show, prepared for possible cold readings, and prepared to move. Please see a partial character description list below. Additionally, please note that all roles are open and that the production staff are interested in performers of all genders, races/ethnicities, ages, and body types.

Emcee (Any gender expression)– Host of the Kit Kat Club. Mysterious, alluring, dangerous. A symbol of the times.

Sally Bowles (Female-presenting)- British cabaret singer of questionable talent and unsure of where her life is taking her.

Cliff Bradshaw (Male-presenting)– American writer exploring the complexities of his identity and the society of Berlin.

Fraulein Schneider (Female-presenting)- German landlady seeking security in her life.

Herr Schultz (Male-presenting)- A German, Jewish fruit vendor. Sweet, lovable, and terribly naive.

Ernst Ludwig (Male-presenting)– A likeable smuggler working for the Nazi party.
