Call For Directors 2027-28

We are excited to announce that Chapel Street Players is seeking submissions from directors for shows in the 2027–2028 season. Below is more information about the process as well as links. You can also find a description of the process on our website.  The selection process will be led by Committee Chair, Brian Touchette.

• We are looking for a variety of shows to engage our audience, attract new patrons, and offer opportunities to partner with community organizations.

• The deadline for director submissions is 11/1/2026. Submissions received before the deadline will receive early consideration, as obtaining rights has become a longer process with Rights Houses consolidating.

Director/Play Submission Process:

Chapel Street Players produces 5 shows per season. 4 mainstage shows and 1 fundraiser. 

There are 2 ways to apply to direct any of the 5 at CSP:

1. Propose a show that you will direct. Please note that CSP only accepts plays submitted by a local director who is going to direct the show for CSP if chosen. Plays submitted without a director attached will not be considered.    
2. If you are interested in directing but are unsure of which show to select, CSP can assist you in finding a suitable show. Please note this in your submission.

Application Process

1. Complete the application Form: 2027-28 Director Submission Form
2. Submit your completed form. There are 3 ways to do so: (1) click SEND in the upper right hand corner of the completed form OR (2) download the completed form and attach it to an email to: playsubmission@chapelstreetplayers.org OR (3) print the form and mail it to:

3. A copy of your script MUST be submitted and any other supporting documentation such as set design drawing or pictures, etc. (these are optional, only the script is mandatory.)
   There are 2 ways to do this: (1) email a photocopy or URL link to playsubmission@chapelstreetplayers.org OR (2) Mail the script andother material to:

NOTE: If you have more than one submission, fill out the form for EACH submission. We ask that directors submit no more than 2 plays per director.   If you submit more than 2, we will contact you and ask to narrow down to 2 submissions.
